Durban has an exceptional ability to tolerate extreme amounts of shade. A warm season lawn species, Durban has deep emerald green leaves that are extremely soft. Being a slow growing turf Durban requires minimal maintenance and therefore is ideal for domestic use. Will adapt to inland and coastal regions of Australia.

Recommended usage
Durban has a niche position in the turf market due to its outstanding shade tolerance. Therefore, Durban is well suited for areas with little direct sun, like under trees or beside a house. An excellent home garden lawn and has selected uses in commercial applications.

Sun & Shade Tolerance
Durban's the most shade tolerant variety of turf available; it also thrives in full sun positions. However, Durban requires a frost free winter in order to have an optimum lawn.

Wear
Durban can withstand low concentrated traffic however if lawn is left longer when mown it will become more tolerant.
